Polaris was the first painting completed for a set of four angels, representing the pole stars and their equatorial sisters. In many ways, she is my favorite from this group. Influenced by the paintings of Michael Parkes and heavy doses of the music of Yes, and based on an ad I saw for snowboarding shoes (I think).
“What are those things in the air?”
Rocks.
“Why are they there? Are they falling?”
They’re there because they’re there.
They are definitely not falling if Polaris has anything to say about it.
