Jerry Minor is an Ohio born artist living and working in the Seattle area. He graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in the computer stone age of 1987. His preferred medium is watercolor and he still works with the traditional tools of the artist which he refers to as a “hank of hair, bit of bone”.

While at the Art Institute he had the opportunity to work on several George Romero productions, the Pittsburgh Advertizing Club’s newsletter, and for a few years at the city’s finest indie record and comic store: Eide’s.

He has worked as in penciler, inker and colorist on such comics as Action Comics Weekly, The Return of Megaton Man, Rock Fantasy Comics, Bog – Swamp Demon, and Power of the Golem.
Know for his figurative and fantasy work, he has produced illustrations for chapbooks, lyric books, role-playing and collectible card games.

From 1998-2001 he was the art director of the poetry review quarterly ‘Visions International’.

Since relocating to the Seattle area in 2002 he has shown annually at many of the local science fiction and fantasy conventions, produced countless private commissions, and had dozens of spotlight and group gallery showings.

“Continuum” is the first comprehensive retrospective showcase of his art. It will run from December 2009 through February 2010 at Essence Salon.

“If an artist does not spring to his work as a soldier to the breach, if once within the crater he does not labor as a miner buried in the earth, if he contemplates his difficulties instead of conquering them one by one, the work remains unachieved, production becomes impossible, and the artist assists the suicide of his own talent…The solution of the problem can be found only through incessant and sustained work…True artists, true poets, generate and give birth today, tomorrow, ever. From this habit of labor results a ceaseless comprehension of difficulties which keep them in communion with the muse and her creative forces.”

I’ve been a Seattle based artist/illustrator for the last six years. I've also shot professionally for Knives Annual, Blade Magazine, Blades International, and Coltelli(Italy).
I’m always seeking models for various projects, including paintings for various gallery and convention shows, illustration assignments and freelance projects, artwalk shows all over the Seattle area and personal independent study. For the sake of time, I'll often photograph my models.
I’m also at work on illustrating the Tarot Major Arcana for a book project and plans to self publish his first collection late in 2010.

I really love your style of drawing, I think it's simplistic and yet intricate at the same time. Beautiful.

And it's always nice to find a fellow Seattlite! Even though I moved out of there two years ago, it's still my home.

You have a lot of great pieces here. Would you be interested in coming to portland's leading gaming convention, Gamestorm, in March to sit at a booth and sell you art work?
